| I believe the plant you purchased is the tropical hibiscus, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. This plant likes full sun and hot summer temperatures. During the summer, keep it well watered and fertilize regularly with a water soluble fertilizer or a slow release granular fertilizer per the label directions. In the fall, if you want to keep it for next year, you will need to bring it indoors as a houseplant for the winter. Bring it indoors before temperatures fall below 55 degrees. |
