I have a lot of trees so there is a lot of shade but I also have a lot of bald spots. Who do I make it green? I have St. Augustine grass. |
I'm assuming you are following a normal fertilizer program, but unfortunately, there aren't turf grass varieties that grow well in the shade, which is why you're experiencing bald areas. Fertilizing won't really help that. St. Augustine is recommended as a grass that will take some shade, so if it's not performing, it's probably too shady. You can try reseeding those areas, but it's likely the same thing will happen. You might consider transplanting some low-growing groundcovers or wildflowers that are shade lovers. It would create a pretty woodland effect and you wouldn't be fighting the bald patches. Good luck! |
