| i planted a vegetable garden for the first time this year and on the cucumber and pepper leaves there is signs of some type of bug eating away at it, because there is little holes in the center of the leaves is there something i can spray even though i never seem to see any bugs when i water. |
| Based on your description I am not certain which insect is bothering your plants although it might be flea beetles if the holes are very small in a shothole pattern. Generally, unless the damage is really severe you can let it go untreated and the plants will outgrow it. Mulching with several inches of organic mulch can sometimes interfere with the beetles, or you can dust the plants with diatomaceous earth; sprays containing neem or carbaryl may also be effective. |
