When dealing with a packet of seeds offering a number of different colors for a particular flower, how can you be sure of getting a fair mix of those colors without starting every seed in the packet (and waiting for each plant to grow up and flower)? Does anyone offer color coding for seeds? |
When seeds are harvested for a mixture, there are random numbers of specific flower colors in each batch. This is due to the fact that some colors produce larger numbers of viable seeds than others. If you want more plants of a specific color, why not purchase a packet of just that color? You can "stack the deck" by adding the seeds to the mixture so it contains more of your favorite color. Or, you can plant some of them and store the rest in an airtight container for use next year. |
