In the past week my grapefuit tree has lost about 20 grapefruits. It has been a little windy could this be the reason or do I have another problem....Thanks

Kathy,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Wind can be a cause but a more likely first cause is that the tree set more fruit than it can support. Early fruit drop is common in citrus when a tree is overloaded or stressed (drought is a common stress but any stress can cause drop).

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
