can old grass clippings be used to make mulch

Grass clippings make terrific mulch, but you won't want to use fresh clippings because they will clump together and shed water. Instead, spread the clippings out for a few days to dry. Once the clippings are dry you can rake them up and spread them out as a mulch material.
