The Q&A Archives: making mulch

Question: can old grass clippings be used to make mulch

Answer: Grass clippings make terrific mulch, but you won't want to use fresh clippings because they will clump together and shed water. Instead, spread the clippings out for a few days to dry. Once the clippings are dry you can rake them up and spread them out as a mulch material.
