| I planted a weeping willow last spring on my front lawn. Over the winter it lost all its leaves. When it started to show signs of life, leaves came back to the bottom of the tree but did not extend to the top branches. Should I have pruned it and when? The tree was young when purchased, around 10-12 feet tsll. |
| Newly transplanted trees are sometimes more susceptible to winter damage because their roots are not well established. I would prune away anything that is obviously dead and then wait for the tree to replace the lost leaves and limbs. Let's hope it recovers quickly! |
