What should be done with an amaryllis bulb when the blooms have been spent? It's in the ground & want to transfer it to a pot.

After flowering, cut off the stalk but allow the leaves to remain. The leaves will die down in a month or two. At that time, when the bulb is resting, pot it up. When a new flower stalk appears begin watering regularly and your amaryllis will bloom for you once again.
