My Soil - Knowledgebase Question

I don't have much good grass in my yard and a there is a lot of sand in the yard, I don't have money to put soil all over, is there something that I can do to get rid of the sand. thanks;

With sandy soil, the best thing you can add is organic matter such as compost. You can spread a very thin layer of this over top of the lawn periodically and it will help with the sand; organic matter will help it hold both moisture and nutrients better. Your local county extension may be able to suggest sources of organic matter such as municipal leaf compost or similar products that are available locally in bulk.
