I have a potted herbal garden which include basil, oregano, sage, Italian parsley, thyme, chives, cilantro, dill, and hot red peppers. How often should I water them? |
It sure would make things easier if there were a specific schedule for watering, but how often you need to water really depends upon the weather, and on how large your containers are. The plants you list can grow well in slightly dry soil. I would check the containers everyday for moisture - stick your finger into the soil and if the top inch is dry, it's time to water. Soil in containers tends to dry out faster than you might expect on a hot summer's day so daily checking is a good rule to follow. Best wishes with your herb garden! |
