| As long as the container is large enough for the plant to grow well, you place it in full sun, fertilize properly, and keep the soil evenly moist, then your pepper plant should do as well or better than in your garden. You might want to mulch the soil surface to help conserve water, and be sure to check the container frequently, since containers dry out more quickly than garden soil. I would try to use a 5-gallon or larger plastic or glazed ceramic pot, to give the roots plenty of room and have enought soil to maintain even moisture. (Porous wood and clay pots dry out quickly.) |
