I have planted a Clematis Vine behind my mailbox post, wanting it to wind around the post. So far I have used a stake to try it force it around the post, to no avail. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Clematis climbs by twining and needs a lattice of some kind, it can't stick to a post or pole by itself. You will need to add a bit of trellis to the post, or some wire mesh such as chicken wire or chain link fencing, for the vine to wend through.
