The Q&A Archives: out door plants

Question: I am going to take a few days off for my vacation. I don't have sprinker for my out door plants. How do I water them when I am not home?

Answer: The best thing is to ask a gardening friend or neighbor to water while you are gone and you return the favor when they travel. Otherwise, container plants can be grouped together on the north side of the house in the shadiest spot, watered thoroughly before you leave, and hope for the best. If it is only a few days, they should survive.
