| I planted seed about a week and ahalf ago. I put hay down to help it grow and now I see grass coming up but it doesn't peek through everywhere. Do I reseed over the hay, do I wait, and when do I remove the hay? Please help. |
| Different varieties of grass will germinate at different times, so it may take another ten days or so to see the full extent of what you are going to get. Leave the hay or straw in place, it will rot down over time and provide organic matter for the soil. (It should be a very thin single layer -- not so thick the grass can't push through it.)
