Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is a succulent grown for its flowers that usually bloom during the winter months. There are many different named varieties of this plant that have been selected for their unique flowers or other special attributes.

Keep it as a houseplant on a sunny windowsill. Allow the soil to dry slightly between thorough waterings. Fertilize spring through fall while it is actively growing using a water soluble fertilizer such as 10-10-10 plus minors at the lower rate on the label directions. In the fall, keep it in a cool room with only natural daylight so it experiences the shortening days. Also water a bit less in the fall and winter. This will cause it to set flower buds. Enjoy your plant!
