Please tell me how:

How often do I water this plant?
How much water do I give it?
Do I stop watering this plant when it begins to freeze outside?

I live in the plains where it is very windy. I have sandy lome soil. I have this plant in half sun. In the summer the weather can be close to 100 degrees with low humidity. At night time the humidity can be close to 100% without rain. The temperatures can go up and down quickly.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely yours, Theresa Uribe

VERONICA ROYAL CANDLES is hardy to zones 4-8 and is a compact plant growing 18" tall by about 14" wide. It has deep green foliage and erect conical spires of rich violet-blue. It is considered long blooming, especially if you prune away the spent flower spikes; new flowering stems will appear. In general, these are neat and tidy, carefree plants that are beautiful in or out of flower. They aren't fussy - any well drained soil in full to part sun will do.

Newly planted, you'll want to water every 2-3 days for a week or so. Deeply soak the soil to encourage deep rooting. After a week or two you can water less frequently. Water when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch (stick your finger down into the soil). When it's time to water, apply slowly so it can trickle down and wet the entire root mass (10-15 minutes with a sprinkler). If humidity is high, water in the morning so the foliage can dry out before nightfall. This will help your plants avoid diseases. You will also want to make sure there is plenty of air circulation all around your plants to help avoid fungal problems.

Best wishes with your new speedwell!
