The Q&A Archives: Bugs

Question: Bugs and ants are eating my vegetable plants. What can I do to get rid of these bugs?

Answer: Sharon,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

You should have the bugs identified first as most insects are not pests and the ones that are may each be best controlled in a different way. Ants for example are almost never pests of vegetables. Your Parish Extension Office can assist you with identifying pests and the best products for each one.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
