The Q&A Archives: Columbine Aguilena

Question: I recently bought a Columbine Aguilena plant at home dopot and was wondering how far down I should cut the flower stems after the flowers have fallen away.. Thanks You. Ron.

Answer: You can remove the entire flowering stem after the flowers fade. If you do this before seedheads form the plant's energy will be redirected from seed making back to flower bud production and you may get a second flush of bloom.

Enjoy your new columbines!
