The Q&A Archives: Vegetables For Shady Spot

Question: What vegtables will grow good in half shade? I have a spot that gets morning sun and very little afternoon
sun.
Answer: Sounds as though you know that most veggies do best in full sunshine. You can get reasonable results in a partly shady area with most any crop that does not set flowers and develop fruits. Try lettuce, radish, cabbage, carrot, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and peas. Stay away from the warm season crops (tomatoes, squash, peppers, corn).
