Iris pallida "Variegata" is a perennial plant. Trim off the faded flowers and trim down the bloom stem. Leave them in the ground year round. Periodically check the plant and remove any discolored or dried foliage. That is all you need to do on a regular basis. Every few years you may need to divide the rhizomes if the plant becomes too crowded. Enjoy your iris!
