Annabelle,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Give a lemon a site with lots of sun. Provide a well drained soil. Adding a few inches of organic matter (compost) is also a good idea. Set the plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot and firm soil in around the roots as you add water and fill the planting hole. This removes air pockets. Build a berm of soil around the plant about 3' in diameter to aid in providing a good soaking irrigation twice a week for the first few weeks after planting. Then back off to once a week.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
