Should I cut back the dead stems of the hydrangea bush. They are quite large and the leaves are sprouting below some of the dead or brown stems. Thanks!

Once you are absolutely certain the tips of the branches are not going to sprout, trim the dead parts off, yes. Do not prune off live wood as that is where your flowers will be.
