| I have many ovely Clamatis plants. Can I make cutting to grow more. If so how is this done? if not how do I get more Clamtis from what I have? |
| Clematis can sometimes be rooted from a tip cutting. The usual procedure would be to use a tip cutting taken at a more mature stage of growth during the summer and including one node. The cutting would be set in clean barely damp soilless potting mix and the top of the container covered with a clear plastic bag or glass or plastic dome to maintain humidity. Then set the plant in a bright location but out of direct sun and wait for roots to form. Once roots are apparent you would gradually remove the cover to expose it to a normal air environment and move it into direct sun. Once it has adjusted to that you would plant it in the garden in early to mid fall. Good luck with your experiment! |
