The Q&A Archives: Source for Strawberries

Question: Where can I buy Grussendorf Strawberry plants? A local strawberry farm swears by them for large fruits and consistent yields, yet I can't seem to find any from the catalogs. Thanks for your help.

Answer: I was not able to locate Grussendorf Strawberry plants. I checked with several berry plant suppliers, 3 of them quite large, and none of them offered this variety. The big 3 had several varieties, many uncommon ones that I would bet are very similar tothe one you seek. If you would like to check out their offerings, here are the names and phone numbers and/or addresses:

Indiana Berry & Plant Co.
1-800-295-2226

Brittingham Plant Farms
(410 749-5153
P.O. Box 2538
Salisbury, MD 21802

Nourse Berry Farms
(413) 665-7888

You might also check with the local grower--they may be able to direct you to a supplier (or even sell you a few plants themselves!)
