Answer: Even though you are watering everyday, I think the roots are drying excessively. If you can sink the rootball into a pile of wet sawdust and saturate the area, or into a hole in the ground, you'll do your arborvitae a favor. Better yet, if you can dig a temporary hole, fill it with water and then set the rootball into the water, it should rehydrate the root system. Fill in around the burlap with the soil you dug out of the hole. This won't fix the brown branch tips, but it should stop furthur browning. Plant your arborvitae as soon as you can.
