| Compost is partially decomposed or rotted down organic matter. Compost can consist of a variety of different ingredients. You can easily make your own using a variety of plant wastes such as herbicide free lawn clippings and autumn leaves and kitchen vegetable scraps, or you can purchase it. Compost is sometimes sold by the bag or may be sold in bulk by home and garden centers, nurseries or landscape suppliers. Some municipal areas also have a composting program and make the compost available to the public. You would need to read the label to see what was in a particular product. |
