I bought two each of creeping berry (rubus pentalobus) & lipstick strawberry (fragaria sp.);
for helping block weeds in my butterfly flower bed, I want to know if we can eat both these berries?? I have raised vegetable beds-two, and
one raised raspberry bed. Will plant strawberries in a lg. plastic tub so they can hang over the sides for more berries.

Fruits from both your new plants are considered edible, but are not very tasty. Or, perhaps, it is an acquired taste, because the flavor is not pronounced, is not very sweet, and in the case of the strawberries, the fruit is pulpy. On the other hand, grow them for their flowers and their dense growth habits and you'll be happy with your choices.
