I purchased a Rose of Sharon Tree at Home Depot in August 06 and so far this year i dont have not even a leaf. I have scratched the bark of the tree and it is green on the inside which indicates the tree is still alive. What can/should i do or is the tree dead? Thanks for your help

Green tissue is a good thing! For some reason, Rose of Sharon is slow to leaf out. In fact, in my garden, it's one of the last to spring to life. Give your plant a little more time to wake up from its winter nap. It will grow quickly once the temperatures suit it.

Best wishes with your garden!
