| Richard, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Dog food has nutrients in it as does anything of plant or animal origin. However I don't think the advice about placing it around your Bird of Paradise is the best idea because it is not going to give much in the way of nutrient contribution or positive results.
