I am confused about what is best for the lawn. I have a mole problem and I have been told to use a grub killer to get rid of them. But don't you need some grubs for healthy soil? Thanks Lynn |
Grubs are the larvae of beetles and they feed on the roots of your grass. A small population won't harm your lawn, but a large population will. Controlling the grubs won't harm your soil. In fact, without competition, your earthworm population with grow and earthworms are some of the best soil dwelling critters to have. They aerate the soil, their castings contain minerals and best of all, they don't feed on the roots of your grasses. |
