I have tried for several years to attain a wildflower garden simply by planting seeds. I am not getting a variety nor the color I was hoping to have ....hoping to have something from early summer through fall. I am thinking of adding some perennials. What might be some good choices? I live in western PA. My garden area is only about 3 X 10 foot. Thanks. |
For a sunny area you might try perennials such as heuchera, iris, yarrow (Achillea), daylily (Hemerocallis), purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), black eyed Susan (Rudbeckia), a mildew resistant border phlox (such as Phlox "David"), sedums, and asters. Spring bulbs such as daffodils and crocus would give you early spring bloom as well. |
