I have a tree that gets white flowers in the spring then in late spring they turn to red berries I have no idea where this tree came from it just appeared and it took awhile for it to bloom I live in Minnesota |
There are several possibilities that come to mind, including serviceberry (Amelanchier), wild cherry (Prunus), viburnum (V. prunifolium), mulberry (Morus) or maybe even a crabapple (Malus), although some of these will ripen from red to black if the birds leave them on the trees that long. Your local county extension or a local naturalist should be able to identify it for you if none of these seem right. |
