How do you take care of ferns during the hot summer months and possibly through the winter? Hanging plants.

Manuela,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Give fern a very bright shade, not direct sun. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. If the fern species you have is hardy you can let it go through winter outdoors otherwise you'll need to bring it in for winter and place it in a bright area. Continue to keep it moist. A bathroom is a good place due to the humidity.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
