The deer have eaten over $500.00 worth of perrienals I planted last fall. I particularly choose these plants because they were on the list of plants that deer won't eat. So much for that list. They even come right up to my front porch and eat the flowers in my containers. Any suggestions?

Nell,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Ouch, those are some expensive deer. I understand as we deal with them too. Deer sometimes eat plants in one area that they avoid in another area. They are curious and may sample a plant and if it is new they'll pull it up. The following website from Georgia has some recommended plants:

This next site from Texas has plants that are mostly not for your area but it has info and concepts that should be helpful to you:

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
