| My hydrangeas were looking great and then all of a sudden, the leaves started turning a yellowish green. The leaves also had holes in them and the foliage wasn't as full. The bushes haven't bloom. What is the problem? |
| Diane, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Yellowing foliage may be due to dry soil conditions or soggy wet (poorly drained) soil. It may also be that the plants need some fertilizer that provides nitrogen. Holes in the foliage is pretty common and a few holes are no cause for concern. But if you can identify the pest we can prescribe an appropriate remedy. Thanks for the question.
