I have a strawberry bed (3ft x 3ft)to the side of my veggie garden that I started last year. Its a mixture of June bearing plants and alpine plants. In the begining when it would start to produce fruit, I would pick it in order to establish the runners. This year the patch is lush with greenery, but with only one or two berries showing what seems like only once a month.! I give it miricle grow every two weeks and it seems to have helped produe runners galore, but little or no fruit. I thought maybe the rabbits were getting to it, but I haven't even noticed the flowers that the berries grow from showing up! It won't vine up my makeshift trellis either I give it an inch of water a week and it gets about 6 hours of direct sun and they are getting lush and tall, but thats it...no fruit. what am I doing wrong?

I suspect you are being too kind to your plants by feeding every two weeks. The nitrogen in the plant food encourages lots of lush, green growth, at the expense of flowers and fruit. Hold back on feeding, water deeply once a week and you should see some flowers in a week or two.

Enjoy your strawberries!
