| Do you recommend the Royal Empress/ Princess Tree for a zone 5 beginner gardener? They seem too easy and fast to be true. |
| Paulownia tomentosa, or Empress tree, is fast-growing and relatively easy to grow. They flower at an early age (and the flowers are awesome!!) I have two in my yard that were grown from seed by a friend. They established themselves quickly and flowered at about 5 years of age. Obviously, a tree from a nursery will flower the first year it is planted. Give these trees lots of room - they can grow 20-30' tall and wide. Enjoy! |
