The Q&A Archives: Growing Brussels Sprouts

Question: How can I get my Brussels sprouts to ripen more uniformly?

Answer: Most Brussels sprouts ripen from the bottom up, and as sprouts appear, it helps to remove the leaves growing below them. The best way to encourage them to ripen at about the same time is to wait until the lower sprouts are about 1/2" in diameter and then pinch off the growing point and the top leaves. Happy eating!
