The Q&A Archives: Spider plants

Question: can a spider plant live year round outdoors

Answer: This depends on your local climate. Chlorophytum comosum can be grown outdoors planted in the garden year round in areas where winter temperatures stay above freezing such as in Florida or parts of southern California -- zones 9 to 11. It will also survive into zone 8 but will be killed to the ground by the cold and then regrow each summer.
