I moved my plant away from window and am now noticing 2 |
Based on your description I am not certain what is happening to your plant. Beaucarnea recurvata or ponytail palm really does best in high light conditions, as bright as possible. It should be watered thoroughly and then the soil should dry out somewhat before watering again. It will need a bit more water and can be fertilized from spring through fall when it is actively growing. Be careful not to overfertilize this plant, a monthly application of water soluble fertilizer at the lower rate on the label should be adequate. Brown leaf tips could be due to overwatering or underwatering, or possibly due to a build up of fertilizer salts in the soil. When you water, make sure the excess drains out of the container and then empty the drainage saucer beneath it. This will help to flush out any excess salts. |
