Orchids generally require a high humidity level and indirect light. They also need good air circulation. You might experiment with setting the orchid containers in the aquarium and leaving the top open for air flow. You could conceal the containers with moss or behind stones. Many orchids will be taller than the aquarium sides -- unless you have a big one! If you are thinking of a terrarium type of planting that is enclosed, consider using some of the following: fancy leaf Begonia, Fittonia, miniature African violet, or Ficus pumila.
