WHEN THE FLOWERS ARE WILTED ON DIANTHUS, DO I DEADHEAD THEM BY PINCHING OFF THE BLOOM OR CUT THEM OFF?

When dianthus flowers are spent, cut the flowering stems down to the crown of the plant. The remaining foliage will grow and fill out; new flowering stems will be produced later in the summer.
