Will clematis survive the weather in Florida and if so what would be the best kind? |
Clematis reticulata, also called Leather Flower, does well in North and Central Florida. This clematis should be planted where it will get 4 or 5 hours of sun a day. It does well in well drained, sandy soil. A support must be provided for it to run on. Plant in fall or spring. A summer mulch of straw, grass clippings, peat moss, or other material will help to retain moisture during the hot summer days. The mulch will also keep weeds under control. |
