I want them to be in full bloom in mid august so i cut them back last month. However they shot up and have buds. Should i cut them back again or would i wreck them? Thankyou! amanda |
It takes a lot of energy for a plant to produce flowers and they have only so much energy in reserve. You'll be pushing your luck if you cut them back a second time. When the flowers do open, they will last about 3 weeks. However, if you keep the spent flowers cut off, the plants should continue to produce new flowers for the rest of the summer. |
