I recently received a Schefflera plant as a gift. I've had some problems with leaves turning and falling off. Please give me the proper instructions for caring for this plant. |
Sometimes, when a plant is new, it goes through a period of adjustment before it settles down and behaves itself. Your plant is showing signs of stress, but with the proper care, it should recover. General care guideline for Schefflera include: Average household temperatures with a minimum of 55F degrees in the winter and no higher than 70F degrees in the summer. They like bright light, but not direct sunlight. Water liberally from spring through autumn, but water sparingly in the winter. Schefflera's like high humidity, so mist the leaves often. Schefflera is not difficult to grow. Once it becomes accustomed to its new home, and you follow the above guidelines, it should be just fine. |
