I live in S. Cal and I have a messy overgrown tree bush by my pool and would like to replace it with an evergreen tree that grows tall with minimal debris falling from it. What are some of your best choices?

Evergreens, whether broadleaf or needled, do drop their foliage, but not all at once so they would be excellent choice for around pools. Ornamental pears have an upright growth habit and produce very little litter so they make great pool companions. Best wishes with your landscape!
