No Blooms on Bird of Paradise - Knowledgebase Question

My bird of paradise is about 10 years oldand has never bloomed. The frangipani is about that age and has only bloomed once.

I fertilized with the miraclegrow etc bloom fertilizer and just get more foliage.

The soil is very acid due to nearby oak trees.

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!
