You can deadhead geraniums by simply snapping the flowering stem off the plant. The stem is usually several inches long and it is connected at a joint. Instead of cutting it off, hold the joint in the fingers of one hand and grab the flowering stem with fingers of your other hand, Quickly snap it off. This will result in a neater appearance without a dead stub.
