What kind of rose (that is like a wild rose) do you recommend? I need a hearty rose and one that can withstand lots of moisture, little maintainence; preferably one with pretty colored flowers. These will be planted along side a water ditch, acting as a hedge barrier.

The best rose I can recommend for this purpose is the 'Bonica' rose. It is extremely hardy, disease resistant, carefree, and is (in my opinion) the absolute best for a hedge-type usage. Burpee offers a beautiful pink variety of 'Bonica'I think you would like. My only concern is the moisture, if the area stays moist or wet constantly, there is no rose that will put up with those conditions. They will not tolerate "wet feet". If we are talking about a situation of constant moisture/poor drainage perhaps we should look elsewhere for a more appropriate plant. If that is the case, please feel free to post another question at the website.
