Although you can transplant them, it is not the best time to do it in the middle of summer. They will suffer some transplant shock and may stop blooming as a result. Before you dig, water thoroughly. When you dig them, take all of the root system. Replant immediately into prepared soil, and water deeply to settle any air pockets. Keep the soil evenly moist like a wrung out sponge while they re-establish. Mulch with an organic mulch about three inches thick to help keep the soil moist. Good luck!
